Ben Moody Music

As a founding member of the band Evanescence at the early age of 14 years old, Ben Moody has been a huge part of the evolution of music. Evanescence is the first project Ben was ever a part of, and he started the band when Ben and (lead singer) Amy Lee were very young. As one half of Evanescence, he wrote, produced, engineered, played a multitude of instruments while contributing to graphic design and for the Band's first 6 years was a one man promotion machine. The line up was complete when Ben met and joined forces with life long musical collaborator and superhero nemesis, David Hodges. Ben Moody was the principle song writer in the band until he left Evanescence in October 2003 over creative differences. There was no getting around it, his accomplishments with Evanescence set a precedence for his future endeavors. It carved the path for his musical career today helping to start a life as a successful artist.

When Ben Moody left the band he was in Germany and took a direct flight to Canada. He had an opportunity to make a cameo in the film ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Ben Moody played a zombie in this feature film attacking one of the lead characters, then his friend Zack Ward, shot his zombie-self in the face. Due to the on-screen introduction, Ben Moody became friends with Zack Ward who later became his business partner. Zack Ward plays a role in Ben Moody's film career as they've been involved in several productions together. Ben just recently scored his directoral debut called "Experimental" and is scoring a feature film that Zack produced and starred in called "Last Stop" which went into production May of 2012. Zack Ward has also been an integral part of the development of Studio 119 and is a recurring presence in many of the collaborations scheduled to take place.

Within a week of meeting Zack Ward on the Resident Evil set, Ben Moody got a call from Jay Baumgardner who is a producer/mixer. He mixed Ben Moody's "Bring Me To Life" and "My Immortal" as well as the We Are The Fallen album. Jay had heard that Ben left Evanescence and asked him to write with Avril Lavigne. Ben Moody went back in Los Angeles,CA to start writing music with Avril Lavigne and playing guitar for her sophomore album "Under My Skin." This moment marked the beginning of his song-writing career. Avril Lavigne played a huge part in encouraging Ben Moody to start writing and singing his own songs. To show her encouragement for Ben Moody, Avril recorded a version of "Everything Burns" with him to help motivate him on his song-writing and singing ability.

After his musical collaboration with Avril Lavigne, Ben Moody got a call from his publishing company to record with Kelly Clarkson. Kelly Clarkson sang a couple of her ideas acapella into a tape recorder (that Ben still has) with a hand written note that says "Kelly's songs for Ben." Ben Moody then co-wrote and produced Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You” and “Addicted” from her 2004 album ‘Breakaway’.

Due to these 2 artistic collaborations as well as dozens of others, Ben Moody has since been a prominent fixture in the pool of professional songwriters. He has worked along side the very talented Grammy Award winner David Hodges, singer-songwriter/guitarist Mitch Allen, and Warner Brothers V.P. of Talent Development Kara DioGuardi, to name a few.

Currently he wants to take his talents and use towards some of his other passions in life such as music, film theater and performing arts, science, technology, transhumanism and regenerative medicine awareness, podcasts and collaboration.

Music: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Ben Moody took time out from the lime light that he knew so well to focus on not just writing and producing but really dug deep into the trenches of long term artist development. He also took the time to work on personally fulfilling projects he was truly passionate about. Ben Moody took the time to really find, practice, and develop his craft as an artist by recording solo albums and working with various bands including We Are The Fallen. This band included original members of Evanescence fronted by American Idol Finalist, Carly Smithson. Ben Moody also took the time to develop an alternative, bluegrass/Americana band, Moody and the Bootleggers. This alternative, blue grassy, Americana band fulfills anyone's dark side as they have a gritty and swampy tone to their music. Moody and the Bootleggers pay homage to an era and a time in music, rather than making light or fun of it. None of Moody and the Bootleggers' songs have been released but maybe they will make their first appearance in Studio 119.

Ben Moody is coming out with his third solo album called "I Am The Distance," which is a continuation of the story line set in place by "You Can't Regret What You Don't Remember." It is the pinnacle of that story line and covers all the way through a very big shift in Ben's life, an emotional breakdown, and a rebuilding of himself start to finish. Thus giving you an inside, intimate look into Ben Moody's darkest and most informative time in his life.

In a world blinded by monotony that's monopolized by a small list of people (that want everything done the same way), Ben Moody's music is a voice of reason. In time, Ben Moody will show the world that he is a liberator of music for people that are bound by big media, big money, and big business. The Paradigm and Studio 119 will feature artists with his same ideas as well as conflicting ideas letting the facts of a conversation help you make your own decisions. Through the Paradigm and Studio 119, he will give people who don't have a voice leverage to have one by incorporating their ideas and views in his live video streams. Music is the most effective way to get a mass of people to follow "your voice."
Moody is slowly rolling out his next solo album one song at a time, all year long and always free to everyone the first 48 hours.
